I recently finished reading Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. It's incredibly well written, but so bleak and brutally violent that I don't think I could recommend it to most people. Still, it made quite an impression on me so I wanted to try to draw some of the main characters. Not sure I did them justice, but it was fun anyway.
That is so beautifully done.
I'm about halfway though this book right now and I'm enjoying it a lot. This looks really solid!
I can't get over how well you captured The Kid. They're all great, but his likeness is absolutely perfect. I recently did a (admittedly very inferior) sketch of The Kid myself based on your drawing. Blood Meridian is an incredible book and this is an incredible capture of its characters.
Thanks so much Rose, I'm glad it inspired you to do a sketch of your own. I think the most difficult character to portray was the Judge character and I honestly don't think I did him justice here.
I might just like your art style, but I feel like your Judge is closer to how I view him than I normally seem him portrayed, almost Dr. Manhattanesque, whereas most portrayals tend to look childlike or a lean a bit more toward body horror. I know I'm just a stranger on the internet, but I really feel like you nailed all three.
